REL-003 RESIDENCE TIME
DISTRIBUTION IN A STIRRED REACTOR.
The
setup provided with
a stirred tank
reactor with magnetic stirring,an overhead
tank, flow meter &
control valve. Other accessories required a through concal flasks
500 ml. (10 Nos.) a stop watch
(1/10th sec) burett (50 ml) & a pipette (25 ml.).
The reactor can be
provided of glass or Aisi 304.

REL-005 SINGLE TUBE PACKED BED REACTOR
The
set up consists of a
vertical tube packed
with ¼" catalyst pallets for
a height of
2000 mm. Fluid
flows down ward through the
packing. Arrangement are made to inject tracer directly above the
bed & the output signals are recorded at the bottom
& at the center of the bed. The equipment is designed to study
the vessel dispersion number of a packed bed reactor.

consists of
a jacketed vessel
provided with agitator.
Provisions are
made for
inlet temperature measurement & cooling
arrangements.

Stirred Tank Reactor)
This
unit consists of:

REL-009 TABULAR FLOW REACTOR
The
unit consists of 20 Mtr. long PVC tube of
5 mm Dia. wound around a cylindrical
surface. The whole unit
is immersed in thermostatic bath maintained at
constant temperature between 25 to 80 o C. Pumps rotameters, per-heaters & product
collecting tank are
provided. The complete unit
is mounted on
platform with
necessary support
frame.

The
set up consists if a chamber of size of 150 mm Dia. & 150 mm height provided

REL-012 DOUBLE PIPE HEAT
EXCHANGER.

The
apparatus consists of a concentric tube heat exchanger with water floating
through inner tube & steam condensing
in the annulus.
Provisions are for variation of steam pressure & water flow rate, inlet/outlet water temperature, steam
pressure & temperature rate of condensate flow.
REL-013 DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF LEVEL IN TWO TANKS INTER- ACTING & NON INTERACTING.
The
equipment consists of tanks I & II arranged in series. Each tank is
fitted with a wire. Each tank is also provided with vernier
level
gauge for
measuring the liquid level
accurately. ( Alternatively the inclined manometers are provided for interacting system).
This experiment is designed to determine :
a. The
dynamic response of any of the tank to a step input & compare
with the theoretical values.
b. The
weir resistances.
c. Time
constants of each tank.
REL-014 ELUTRIATOR
The apparatus
is used for size separation of those powders which
can be
easily &
practically graded using air.
The elutriatior has
3 cylindrical tubes
of
decreasing
dia. Auxillary equipment
consists of
a blower, pressure stabilising & air
clearing
equipment,
a flow meter for measuring rate
of air flow. The effect of
electrostatic
charges which causes particles to adhere to the walls of the tube is reduced by continual
mechanical rapping of the tube at the top of the tube.
REL-015 FALLING FILM EVAPORATOR
In
this setup the feed point is arranged in such a way that it falls along
the wall
of the
evaporator in
a thin
film. Heating
is provided through
steam
jacket with wiping mechanism.
REL-016 LIQUID FLUDISED BED
The unit
enables two replated fields of interest to be investigated both visually &
analytically.
a. Flow in
closely packed & then fludsied bed of particles.
b. Heat
transfer in a closely packed & then fluidised bed particle.
The unit
consists of vertical glass cylinder which contains the bed. A fan supplies controlled air to the chamber
at the bottom of
the cylinder
& from
here it is
uniformly distributed into the bed.
The pressure
differences across the bed at various flow
rates is measured.
A heat transfer
surface is in the form of a horizontal cylinder containing a heater. Temperature
at all
important point
may be measured.
The set
up is
also provided with rotameters, heating
element, temperature
indicator, with thermocouples to
measure the temperature of
a. Bed.
b. Surface
of the heating element.
c. Air
supply manometer & ammeter to measure the heat input to the
element etc.
REL-017 LIQUID PHASE CHEMICAL REACTOR
The setup
consists of a
litre glass reactor with agitator, stainless steel
plates, heating coil, temperature measuring device, gas sparger, Rotameter
etc. Strong tank for water along
with the required pumps are included in the scope of supply.
REL-018 PACKED BED DISTILLATION
COLUMN.
The equipment consists of a SS column packed
with berl sadles / rasching
rings reboiler &
the condensers are provided at the bottom & top respectively. Arrangements are made to measure the
temperatures at strategic location & to observe the pressure drop across
the column.
REL-019 STEAM JET EJECTOR.
A
steam jet ejector is used to evacuate a tank also fitted with an air blead
line. A steam condenser, flow
meter, pressure & temperature
indicating device are provided.
REL-020 SIEVE PLATE DISTILLATION
This
is self contained set & consists
of main column made of segment
of 100 mm dia. MS suctions /provided with sieve plate
design to operate
from weeping to flooding conditions. The unit is self contained & provided
with feed tank, condenser boiler,
cooling water pump,
flow measuring devices, &
regulating monitor, suitable insulation & starting system
will also be provided.
REL-021 SPRIAL HEAT EXCHANGER.
In
this setup the heat exchanger is arranged parallel to each other there
by counter flow
or parallel flow
can be achieved. The parallel
plates are wound spirally &
the ends (axial) are closed.
Arrangements are provided for the supply of hot water
& cold water flow &
temperature measurement of each
stream so that
heat transfer phenomenon can
be studied. The equipment is suitably supported. Approx.
1.5 m2 of
heat transfer area
is provided.
REL-022 TAPPERED FIN TUBE HEAT
EXCHANGER
The
apparatus consists of double pipe heat exchanger with ligitudinal / helical
circular fins on the other surface of the inner tube. The air is admitted over fin in
the annulus by means of blower & compressor hot
water/steam is admitted through the tube at steady state. Temperature & pressure points are
at the suitable places. water flow measurements by Rotameter. Air
measurement by Rotameter (steam/air supply where ever
necessary will have to be arranged by you) tappered fin
tubes of 37/1 of 0.1 to 0.2 thickness

provided . The test specimen
can be replaceable.
